GuideZanzibar.com is an information and connection platform between travelers and local providers (guides, drivers, accommodations, excursion organizers) in Zanzibar.
The site does not handle any online financial transactions: all payments are made directly to local contacts (cash, bank transfer, mobile money, or other agreed method).

  • Role of GuideZanzibar.com

    GuideZanzibar.com does not sell stays or excursions in its own name.
    The site connects the traveler with a reliable local provider (guide, driver, agency, hotel).
    Payment, cancellation, and refund conditions are defined directly between the traveler and the provider.
    Consequently, GuideZanzibar.com does not collect any payments and does not issue refunds on behalf of providers.

  • No Transactions on the Site

    No banking information (card number, IBAN, etc.) is collected on guidezanzibar.com.
    Final bookings, deposits, and balance payments are made off-site: WhatsApp, email, provider's payment link, transfer, etc.
    GuideZanzibar.com therefore cannot cancel or refund a transaction it did not participate in.

  • Cancellation and Refund Policy of Local Providers

    Each local provider (guide, driver, hotel, excursion agency) applies its own cancellation and refund policy, which may vary based on:

  • Type of service (transfer, excursion, guiding, accommodation).

  • Season (high/low season).

  • Cancellation deadline before the service.

  • Amount of deposit paid.
    It is the traveler's responsibility to request and confirm in writing (WhatsApp, email) the following conditions before any payment:

  • Deposit amounts.

  • Minimum cancellation deadline without fees.

  • Possible cancellation fees (percentage or flat rate).

  • Refund conditions in case of:

    • flight delay or cancellation,

    • illness/unforeseen event,

    • unfavorable weather,

    • provider cancellation.

  • Dispute with a Provider

    In case of a problem with a refund or cancellation:
    The traveler must first contact the local provider with whom the booking and payment were made.
    GuideZanzibar.com can, as far as possible, assist with mediation (reconnection, translation, exchange clarification), but cannot impose a refund on the provider.
    GuideZanzibar.com cannot be held responsible:

  • for a refund refusal,

  • for a refund delay,

  • for a commercial dispute between the traveler and the provider.

  • Cancellation or Modification of Services Recommended via GuideZanzibar.com

    If you obtained a contact (guide, driver, excursion, hotel) via GuideZanzibar.com:
    Any cancellation, modification, or refund request must be addressed directly to the provider.
    We recommend requiring written confirmation of cancellation and/or refund conditions at the time of booking.
    GuideZanzibar.com can help retrieve the provider's contact details if necessary.

  • GuideZanzibar.com Liability

    Within legal limits:
    GuideZanzibar.com is not responsible for sales conditions, prices, cancellations, or refunds offered by local providers.
    GuideZanzibar.com cannot be held liable for financial losses related to:

  • cancellation of a flight or stay,

  • program changes,

  • non-compliance with announced conditions by a provider.
    We carefully select our local contacts, but each service remains under the legal and commercial responsibility of the provider.

  • Recommendations to Travelers

    To secure your bookings:

  • Always request a written summary (WhatsApp, email) before paying.

  • Verify cancellation/refund conditions and keep a copy.

  • Prefer traceable payment methods (bank transfer, secure payment link, etc.) when possible.

  • Subscribe to travel insurance covering cancellations, delays, and unforeseen events.
